Understanding the usage of colors and creating an atmosphere through copying the work of other people.
The first (and this far the only) time I tried this I was pleasantly surprised. I am very interested in creating atmosphere in a drawing, but honestly, I am not good at it at all. When I think of an image I think of a certain vibe to strengthen what you want to convey to the audience, but I often find myself wondering how I exactly can create that atmosphere.

Because I have never really practiced creating different surroundings and nightfalls I simply do not have the tools yet, so when I tried this technique it really helped me with something I wanted to practice for a longer time.
Give yourself one hour to re-draw an illustration or painting of your choice. With this practice you get more insight in how the atmospheres in your favorite illustrations have been made, and after that you can use that knowledge and implement it in your own work, in your own creations. Do not use the pipet in your digital program. Find it out yourself.
If you are aiming to achieve a certain vibe in your scene, but do not know how to create it, do some research beforehand.

If you want to bake a good cake you need to know the right ingredients.
Give yourself one hour time to create an illustration of choice. The goal is to learn more about certain elements in that artwork to create different effects. This way, you can proceed to recreate these elements later onion your own work and enlarge your toolkit.

Do not use the pipet when choosing colors. Try to fix the puzzle yourself.
